The first female lawyer in Russia was E.F. Kozmina, a graduate of the Vyatka Women's Gymnasium, who in 1875 received a private attorney's certificate from the Nizhny Novgorod court and had considerable practice. More than 30 years later Ekaterina Fleishits, a graduate of the law faculties of Paris and St. Petersburg universities, was the first woman lawyer to write and defend her doctoral thesis. At the beginning of the XXI century examples of successful careers in the law of the beautiful half of humanity are already in order.
