Valeriy Chernikov's at Scientific and Practical Conference "Kovalev Readings"

"Mr. Valery Chernikov, Deputy Chairman, Alliance Legal CG Scientific Advisory Council leading expert cited information that became known to him as part of the office of the Deputy Chairman of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
According to Mr. Valery Chernikov , about a quarter of all citizens' appeals to the Ombudsman contain requests to deal with law-enforcement, judicial and law-making mistakes.
As an example, he cited data from the Ombudsman’s report, according to which only 53% of convicts ’applications for exemption from serving a sentence for health reasons are satisfied by the court.
